Vaucluse may be a blue ribbon Liberal stronghold but look what happened in the Wentworth by-election!
I am a local. I grew up in Clovelly and moved to Bondi 30 years ago. I have had extensive community involvement as the Convenor of Bondi Beach Precinct, and a committee member of the residents’ group, Rescue Bondi.
I spearheaded campaigns including to Save Bondi Pavilion, Save Bondi Beach Post Office, and to stop a 24 hour bottle shop at Bondi Beach.
I organised campaigns for and took action to oppose the amalgamation of Woollahra, Waverley and Randwick Councils, contrary to the actions of the current local member who is also the Minister of Local Government.
Climate change is here and we are already feeling its effects. As a member of NSW Labor I will prioritise policies for safeguarding and restoring the NSW environment for the benefit of our people, our economy and our sustainable future. I will among other things support legislation to maintain urban trees, close loopholes that allow extensive tree clearing, and increase Sydney's urban tree canopy by 40% by 2030.
I will take action to stop overdevelopment & protect our infrastructure. The current state government has stripped development approvals from local Councils. I will fight for local communities and local Councils to be front and centre in determining these.
I will fight against privatisation of our key assets. Privatising our water supply is unforgiveable, as is the privatisation of our Land Titles Office and the stealthy takeover of our bus services.
I will take action to protect our Heritage - our historical buildings plus our environmental heritage such as our National Parks including South Head National Park.
As a member of a socially progressive party, the Labor Party, I will not be quiet about these issues.
